APC Chieftain Stresses Transparency, Internal Democracy

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barr Henry Okeke, has stressed the need for transparency, internal democracy and collective commitment to strengthen the party in Enugu State.

Okeke spoke after the APC state congress held at the Okpara Square, where a new executive was elected.

He said the congress, which produced the state executive through what he described as a unanimous affirmation by delegates, reflected the unity and shared vision of party members across the state.

“I had the honour of participating in the APC state congress held at the historic Okpara Square in Enugu. The new executive was elected through a democratically unanimous affirmation vote by the state congress delegates,” he said.

Okeke noted that the exercise underscored the importance of internal democracy and cooperation among stakeholders to ensure the party’s growth and stability.

He congratulated the newly elected state officials led by Dr Martin Chukwunweike, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them by members.

Quoting Chukwunweike, Okeke said: “Loyalty has no percentage; it is either loyalty or nothing.”

The APC chieftain also expressed appreciation for the opportunity to participate in the ward, local government and state congresses, describing the process as inclusive and forward-looking.

He added that sustained commitment to transparency and unity would position the party for greater achievements in Enugu State.
