A Khadi with the Kwara State Sharia Court of Appeal, Ilorin, Justice AbdulRaheem Ahmad Shayi, has attributed the prevailing insecurity in Nigeria to the extreme coma of social justice.
Shayi stated this in a lecture titled, “Social Justice: An Effective Means Of Achieving Peaceful Coexistence: Islamic Point Of View” at a Ramadan lecture organised by the Islamic Missionaries Association of Nigeria (IMAN) in Ilorin, Kwara State.
He said the unabated flaunting of wealth by “irresponsible leaders” was fuelling banditry and kidnapping in the land.
The Khadi observed that racism and discriminatory comments are capable of disrupting peaceful coexistence.
He maintained that no nation would progress where miscarriage of justice thrives, blaming the unrest in the global on injustice.
Shayi challenged those in positions of authority to entrench true dispensation of justice, no matter whose ox is gored, to restore sanity in Nigeria.
The Khadi tasked the participants to bequeath sound moral values on their children and wards to enable them to become responsible citizens
