President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday swore in Tunji Disu as the 23rd Inspector-General of Police at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The swearing-in ceremony took place shortly before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council meeting.
The President also administered the oath of office on six commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission and two commissioners of the Federal Civil Service Commission.
The brief ceremony was witnessed by ministers, senior government officials and family members of the appointees.
Among top government officials present were Vice President Kashim Shettima; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; and the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Esther Walson-Jack.
Members of the Federal Executive Council proceeded with their meeting immediately after the swearing-in ceremony.
