In a major push to tackle Nigeria’s housing deficit and fast-track large-scale home delivery, the federal government will next month convene a high-level summit aimed at unlocking private capital and translating housing policies into bankable projects.
The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, in partnership with Shelter Advisory Services Limited, announced plans to host the second edition of the Renewed Hope Housing Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Summit in April 2026 at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.
With the theme “From Policy to Projects: Financing and Delivering Housing at Scale through PPPs,” the summit is designed as a transaction-focused platform to accelerate structured partnerships between government and private investors in the housing sector.
According to the ministry, the summit will bring together federal and state policymakers, legislators, institutional investors, developers and development partners to align housing policies with implementable projects capable of delivering homes at scale.
A statement signed by the Ministry’s director press and public relations, Badamasi Haiba reveals that initiative is expected to focus on building viable project pipelines, developing innovative financing instruments, strengthening risk-sharing frameworks and showcasing delivery models that can be replicated across states.
The ministry noted that the summit is designed to move Nigeria’s housing conversation “from strategy to sustained delivery,” by turning policy clarity into investable housing projects capable of delivering measurable impact for cities and communities across the country.
Officials say the summit underscores the growing recognition that Public-Private Partnerships remain the most practical pathway for mobilising long-term finance, leveraging public land and infrastructure, and deploying private sector expertise to address Nigeria’s huge housing demand.
Beyond policy discussions, organisers say the one-day event will feature a specialised training workshop titled “Leveraging PPPs and Joint Ventures for Housing Development,” targeted at heads of housing agencies, project management institutions and developers.
