Terrorists Launch Fresh Attack On Kebbi Border Post, Kill 2 Policemen

Terrorists suspected to be Lakurawa bandits have attacked a police border checkpoint along the Bakin Ruwa–Maje road in Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State, killed two police officers.

Resident in Tsamiya town who craved anomious confirmed who confirmed the incident to our correspondent on Thursday also said the assailants, after killing the officers, also burnt down the tent used by the officers at the checkpoint.

He added that the gunmen arrived in large numbers and opened fire, shooting indiscriminately at the checkpoint.

Confirming the incident, the Kebbi State police public relations officer, SP Bashir Usman, said the attack resulted in the death of two officers who were on duty.

He added that the gunmen also set the checkpoint tents ablaze.

“They killed two of our officers and burnt down the checkpoint, but the police are on top of the situation.
