Kwara Govt To Renovate 898 Schools

The Kwara State government is to renovate 898 junior and senior secondary schools to ensure quality education delivery.

The state government has constituted a committee of Technical Service Providers (TSPs)  under the state’s Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment( AGILE)project for the implementation of the project.

The commissioner for education and human capital development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, has flagged off a two-day training workshop for members of the committee.

Olohungbebe  applauded  Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for  demonstrating deep passion and commitment towards providing a lifeline for economic and educational development of the citizenry with particular emphasis on vulnerable groups .

The project coordinator of Kwara AGILE, Mr. Adeshina Salami, stressed the importance of synergy between the School-Based Management Committees (SBMCs) and the technical service providers to ensure success.

He assured that all schools would benefit from the provision of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) facilities.

The environmental safeguard officer from the National Project Coordinating Unit (NPCU), Abuja, Mrs. Nkechi Ikemefuna said the training was crucial as it would helpsl to identify, prevent and mitigate potential environmental and social risks in the rehabilitation exercise.
