Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha has called on Nigerians to imbibe the culture of planting more flowers in their surroundings to assist the federal government tackle climate change challenges.
The SFG gave the charge in Abuja at the weekend while declaring open the first edition of the Abuja Garden Show held at Sarius Palmetum and Botanic Garden, Maitama.
The show was hosted by the former First Lady and renowned horticulturist, Mrs Ajoke Murtala Muhammed and chaired by the wife of the vice president, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo.
The Abuja Garden show promises to highlight all that is available by showcasing businesses in and around plants and gardens in a three- day exhibition.
The SGF said, “As we’ve seen, with the level of flooding that has overwhelmed the entire nation and globally, I would like to ask each and every one of you that as you go around looking at the beauty and the wonders of this facility, make sure you order for flowers and use around your home and even your office facility.”
