Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for nominating a son of the state, Lamido Abubakar Yuguda, as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Tinubu, had on Wednesday nominated Yuguda as Deputy Governor of the apex bank, for the confirmation by the Senate.
Governor Yahaya, while reacting, said the nomination is a well deserved one and a source of pride to the government and people of the state.
In a statement by his director general on press affairs, Ismaila Uba Misilli, on Thursday, the governor noted that Yuguda’s nomination reflects the confidence reposed in his competence and experience in managing complex financial systems.
He described him as a seasoned economist and accomplished financial expert with an impressive track record spanning over three decades in the financial services sector.
Before this development, Yuguda served as director-general of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) at the CBN.
He was also a member of Governor Yahaya’s 2019 Pre-Inauguration Transition Committee.
