The Adamawa State police command has arrested two persons in connection with the abduction of a four-year-old child in Numan local government area of the state.

The Police said one Umar Ibrahim of Ngballang, Numan LGA, reported at the Police station in Numan that his four-year-old son, Ramadan Ibrahim, went out to play but did not return home.

The Police said, all efforts by the family to locate the child initially proved unsuccessful and days later, the complainant received a call from an unknown number informing him that his son had been kidnapped and demanded ₦800,000 ransom.

Following investigation by operatives of the command attached to Numan Division, two suspects identified as Sadiq Ali and Shitu Umar, both residents of Lafiya in Lamurde local government area, were arrested in connection with the crime.

During interrogation, the suspects voluntarily confessed committing the organised crime.

The Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit has been directed to take over the case for discreet investigation and further necessary action.
