The New Enugu Group has said ongoing infrastructure development and economic reforms under Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, are redefining governance and accelerating growth in the state.
The group’s convener, Barrister Henry Okeke, stated this on Tuesday in a message to mark the governor’s 54th birthday, noting that the administration’s focus on roads, education, healthcare and security was repositioning Enugu for sustainable development.
Okeke said the government had, within a short period, embarked on critical road construction and rehabilitation projects aimed at improving connectivity between urban and rural communities, thereby boosting economic activities.
He added that investments in smart schools and healthcare facilities were strengthening human capital development, while new security measures, including the deployment of surveillance systems, had enhanced safety across the state.
According to him, the administration’s policies on investment promotion, agribusiness and revenue generation are laying the foundation for long-term economic transformation.
“We celebrate a visionary leader whose actions have set Enugu on the path of sustainable growth and development,” he said.
Okeke further noted that the governor’s plan to position Enugu as a hub for business and tourism was gradually becoming a reality, driven by ongoing reforms and infrastructure expansion.
He wished the governor good health and success in delivering democratic dividends to the people of the state.
