The federal government has rolled out a new “Fly Now, Pay Later” credit scheme to boost access to domestic flights for Nigerians grappling with rising travel expenses.
Announced by the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) on its X platform Tuesday, the initiative lets eligible users book local flights via visaro.ng and repay costs over time through structured financing. It partners with MyVisaro and Alert Microfinance Bank to tackle upfront payment hurdles.
“At CREDICORP, we remain committed to expanding responsible consumer credit and enabling Nigerians live better now, including flying locally. Fly now. Pay later. Opportunity shouldn’t wait,” the corporation stated.
The move supports CREDICORP’s mandate for financial inclusion amid soaring domestic airfares.
During the 2025 Yuletide season, one-way tickets on key routes surged up to 150 per cent, topping N300,000, due to high aviation fuel costs, forex shortages, and operational pressures, airlines say.
Demand for intra-country flights remains strong, but affordability issues persist. Interested Nigerians can apply at visaro.ng for flights to any domestic destination.
