Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, were on Wednesday formally received by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle, marking the commencement of a high-level state visit to the United Kingdom.

The Nigerian delegation arrived to full ceremonial honours, including a 42-gun salute fired by the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, as both British and Nigerian flags lined the streets of Windsor town.

Details of their arrival were shared via X (formerly Twitter) by the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, who posted videos capturing the moment the President and First Lady were welcomed into the royal residence.
“King Charles and Queen Camilla officially received President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu at Windsor Castle. They were presented to the Royal Family by Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales.
“They were treated to a 42-gun salute by the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery,” Olusegun wrote.

The visit, hosted by King Charles III, is expected to span two days and focus on strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, with discussions likely to culminate in new partnerships and memoranda of understanding across key sectors.
