The Police have said they have put in place robust security measures to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration across Kaduna, Gombe and other parts of the North as Muslims prepare for the Sallah celebration.
In Kaduna, the Command reiterated that the use of knockouts, fireworks and other similar explosives remains strictly prohibited.
In a statement issued by the Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, on Wednesday, stated, “Parents and guardians are strongly advised to warn their children and wards to desist from using such items, as violators will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly. Members of the public are equally encouraged to report anyone found using or selling such prohibited items to the nearest Police Station”
In Kano State, the Police Command has warned residents against engaging in unlawful and disorderly conduct during the forthcoming Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
The command said it had put in place adequate security measures to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Sallah across the state.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the command’s spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and urged them to celebrate responsibly.
In Gombe, the Police Command has announced extensive security deployments across the state ahead of the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the command’s spokesperson, disclosed this on Wednesday, noting that it had put in place comprehensive security arrangements, including the strategic deployment of personnel and operational assets to prevent any breach of peace before, during, and after the celebrations.
He added that as part of its proactive approach, the police urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by reporting any suspicious activities, movements, or objects to the nearest police station.
The Command also advised motorists and motorcyclists to strictly observe traffic rules and regulations to avoid accidents and ensure smooth movement during the festivities, urging parents and guardians to keep a close watch on their children throughout the period.
