The Adamawa State Government has urged parents, caregivers, and community leaders to support health campaigns by ensuring all eligible children are vaccinated.
Deputy Governor Kaletapwa George Farauta made the call during a State Task Force on Primary Health Care meeting in Yola, noting that health workers have been reoriented to improve vaccine accountability and outreach.
She said the state is preparing for the Sub-National Immunisation Plus Days (March 28–April 1, 2026), while also addressing last year’s cholera outbreak with a second phase of oral vaccination in parts of Mubi North and South (April 7–12).
Farauta raised concern over a confirmed meningitis case in Maiha LGA, warning of a potential outbreak if not contained. She also announced upcoming malaria prevention campaigns and insecticide-treated net distribution in June.
She stressed the need for flood preparedness, stronger healthcare systems, and sustained collaboration to improve health outcomes.
Health officials and stakeholders commended government efforts but highlighted challenges in hard-to-reach areas, calling for renewed commitment to ensure success.
