Rock musician and frontman of The Wildhearts, Ginger Wildheart, has announced that he will not undergo treatment following a cancer diagnosis.

The band confirmed that the 56-year-old singer, born David Leslie Walls, has been diagnosed with mantle cell lymphoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer affecting the lymphatic system.

The diagnosis comes after the artiste reportedly experienced severe pain during the band’s 2025 UK tour.

In a statement shared on social media, Wildheart said he has chosen not to pursue medical treatment.

He noted that he intends to continue writing and performing music despite the diagnosis.

The musician also revealed that he has been given an estimated two to three years to live.

He urged fans to remain positive, adding that he plans to keep performing for as long as possible.

The band’s management confirmed that all previously scheduled shows will go ahead as planned.
