United States President, Donald Trump, has declared that efforts to stop a nuclear-powered Iran have been “militarily won,” while criticising NATO allies for failing to support the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

In a post on Truth Social on Friday, Trump said the military objective had largely been achieved, but accused allied nations of refusing to assist in stabilising global oil supply routes.

“Now that fight is militarily won , with very little danger for them, they complain about the high oil prices they are forced to pay, but don’t want to help open the Strait of Hormuz, a simple military maneuver that is the single reason for the high oil prices,” he wrote.

The US president added, “So easy for them to do, with so little risk. cowards, and we will remember!”

Trump also criticised the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), accusing member countries of failing to support the United States during the conflict with Iran.

“Without the U.S.A., NATO is a paper tiger! They didn’t want to join the fight to stop a Nuclear Powered Iran,” he said.

Earlier in the week, Trump had called on NATO allies to support efforts to reopen the Strait, a critical global oil transit route.

However, he later downplayed the need for their involvement.

“We no longer ‘need,’ or desire, the NATO countries’ assistance — we never did,” Trump stated in a separate post on Tuesday.

The Strait of Hormuz remains a vital corridor for global energy supplies, with disruptions often triggering spikes in international oil prices and raising concerns over global economic stability.
