The Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed alleged attempts by certain individuals to incite members in Mozum Ward, describing the move as unlawful and without merit.
In a statement issued by the Media Adviser to the State Chairman, Abu Michael, the party condemned the actions of some ward executives, noting that they are yet to be duly inaugurated and therefore lacked the authority to act on behalf of the party. He described their conduct as a clear violation of the PDP constitution.
To address the situation, the party has constituted a committee to investigate the matter and recommend appropriate disciplinary measures against those found culpable.
The statement reaffirmed that Hon. Muhammed Sanni Gambo remains the duly recognised chairman of the PDP in Kogi State, urging members and the general public to disregard any misinformation suggesting otherwise.
It further highlighted that Gambo’s leadership has been marked by stability and credibility, noting that no formal petitions have been filed against him.
The party also alleged that the disruption was being orchestrated by a former lawmaker now aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC), alongside some aggrieved elements, in what it described as futile attempts to undermine the PDP’s progress.
Meanwhile, the Mozum Ward PDP has distanced itself from the development, calling on members to remain calm and united as the party leadership continues to steer its affairs in the state.
End.
