Shettima Formally Receives Gov Fintiri To APC In Adamawa

Nigeria’s Vice President Kashim Shettima has formally received Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri into the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Adamawa.

Recall that Fintiri recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Shettima at a grand reception in honour of Fintiri held at Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola Monday, endorsed Fintiri
as the leader of APC in the state.

The endorsement by the VP set aside rumors making rounds over who leads APC in the state.

The VP announced that Gov Fintiri would partner in advancing not only Adamawa state, but the entire nation as a whole.

“We salute your work as we look forward to forge a partnership that advances not only Adamawa but the nation as a whole,” he said.

Shettima further assured that the party in the state remains structured to make it vibrant and responsive.

The Vice President announced plans to bring in former Governor Jibrilla Bindow to the party next week.

In his response, Fintiri said he has returned to APC with capacity and numbers to support President Bola Tinubu re-election bid in the 2027 elections.

Fintiri stated that leveraging on good governance delivered to his people which is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President, he and his supporters would support the party in the state.

The governor lauded President Tinubu for what he called rediscovering and put
Nigeria on a recovery path.

According to him, the President has been bold enough to introduce good policies and programs yielding results and putting Nigeria in a community of nations.

Earlier National Chairman of APC, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, welcomed the governor to the party where he rightly belonged.

“I am proud of what you are doing in the education sector. We are proud we have you back to the progressives.”

Yilwatda, urged Fintiri to unite the people and the party in the state.
