The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that it is ready for the conduct of its National Convention scheduled for this Saturday, March 28, and the 2027 general election.

Chairman of the Central Coordination Committee for APC 2026 National Convention, Hon. Aminu Masari and other key leaders planning the exercise made this declaration in Abuja on Monday.

They spoke after a walk for a cleaner and safer environment, themed: “Let’s Go Green”, organised by the Environment and Sanitation Sub-committee, APC 2026 National Convention.

Addressing journalists at the event, Masari, a former governor of Katsina State, said the walk demonstrated the APC’s readiness not just for the convention but also for next year’s polls, in which the party is confident of victory.

“They have done a good job, and they have made a very good decision. They have aligned themselves to win. This shows that APC is ready and we are waiting for 2027. Our convention, we are ready for it, come Saturday.

“I thank the organisers of this road march, for being so green, wherever you go, you are green. Let it go green. Let it go green. We are ready, you can see that we are ready,” he said.

Asked whether there were challenges encountered while planning the convention, Masari said: “Do you live life without challenges? Exactly, there are some. When you leave your house to come here, don’t you face challenges, other traffickers will interrupt you. Life without challenges is meaningless.”

For his part, co-chairman of the APC Convention Environment and Sanitation Sub-committee and former Cross River State Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade, said the event was a demonstration of the party’s capacity to hold a hitch free convention and head to victory in 2027.

“What we have done shows the real fact that we have capacity, energy and vitality to drive the convention in absolute peace. As a party, we are really repositioning and reloading to create a new Nigeria that shows clearly that we are focused on returning to government and with a clear agenda to put people first and above every consideration.

“We want to also celebrate our party for this organised procedure that we have had today. I want to say that we will end this with calisthenics, a dance that shows that we are indeed prepared for the elections coming next year. Indeed, it is very clear that our president has done so, so well.

“So we are here to celebrate the convention and of course, an adoption of sorts of President Bola Tinubu. God will give us a very successful convention and ultimately victory at the 2027 polls,” he noted.

Similarly, former Speaker of the House of Representatives and member of the Convention Planning Committee, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, said the party is poised to conduct a successful convention and victorious outing at the 2027 polls.

“What we have done today is a pointer to what we hope the convention will achieve so that the focus will not just be on our domestic issues in Nigeria but even the global agenda. You know the environment is topmost when you are talking about climate change, so many things are happening to our environment.

“Of course, the emphasis is on Nigerians, I want everybody to know that just as injury has pain, the healing process too carries pain… the reforms being embarked upon will take time and I’m happy that we have President Tinubu; someone who is courageous, someone who is dedicated to the progress of this country.

“As benefits of these reforms begin to crystalise, Nigerians will see clearly why we should return him back. As far as I’m concerned, this convention has offered us the opportunity not only to showcase what the party can do but to render an account to the teeming populace, ahead of the 2027 election and hopefully we will be there and return the president with resounding success,” he added.

In her remarks, secretary of the APC Convention Environment and Sanitation Sub-committee,

Senator Uche Ekwunife, commended leaders of the party and other participants at the walk, which she said indicated not just readiness for the convention but the 2027 election.

“I want to thank everyone for finding the time to come out this morning to let Nigeria know that APC is prepared. We are not just prepared for the convention, we are prepared for the 2027 election, when we are going to return our President, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima.

“We want to let them know that we are not just green, we are ready, we are prepared, we are confident that in 2027, APC is going to win in a landslide, 90% of all the votes cast in Nigeria. President Tinubu is coming back,” he said.
