The mayor of Tel Aviv said a “direct strike” damaged a residential building on Tuesday following an Iranian missile attack warning, as emergency responders confirmed that four people were treated for minor injuries.

Mayor Ron Huldai told reporters that the building in an upscale neighbourhood in the northern part of the coastal city was hit directly during the attack.

An AFP journalist at the scene reported that the blast tore open the façade of an old three-storey building and scattered debris across the surrounding street.

According to several Israeli media outlets, including military radio, police believe the damage may have been caused by a cluster munition missile equipped with three to four warheads, each carrying around 100 kilograms of explosives.

Israel’s national emergency service, Magen David Adom, released a video from inside one of the affected apartments showing extensive damage caused by the explosion.

The agency said four people were treated for minor injuries and later discharged, revising an earlier figure that had placed the number of those wounded at six.

An MDA source said the individuals mainly suffered from smoke inhalation after a small fire broke out following the explosion.

The Israeli military said it had issued seven warnings on Tuesday of incoming missile fire from Iran targeting central and southern Israel. At least six additional warnings were issued for missiles or rockets launched from Lebanon toward northern Israel.

According to the military, Israeli missile defence systems intercept more than 90 percent of incoming fire from Iran, though officials frequently remind residents to seek shelter during alerts, noting that the system is not completely “airtight.”

Police said bomb disposal teams had been deployed to several impact sites of munitions across the Tel Aviv district. However, authorities confirmed that no additional injuries were reported beyond the four people treated after the strike on the residential building.
