FC Barcelona are reportedly shifting their transfer focus towards Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer window, as uncertainty clouds their pursuit of Julián Álvarez.
According to reports, the Catalan giants are actively assessing striking options as they plan for life beyond Robert Lewandowski. While Álvarez remains their preferred candidate to spearhead the attack, complications surrounding a potential deal with Atlético Madrid have forced the club to explore alternatives.
Osimhen has emerged as one of several forwards under consideration. The Nigerian striker, currently starring for Galatasaray, has reignited interest following an impressive run of form, scoring 56 goals in 70 appearances across two prolific seasons. His contract with the Turkish side runs until 2029.
Despite his undeniable quality in front of goal, Barcelona remain cautious. Concerns over Osimhen’s temperament—previously cited as a factor in his 2024 departure from Napoli—have reportedly tempered enthusiasm within the club’s hierarchy.
Meanwhile, other previously linked options have fallen by the wayside. Dušan Vlahović, despite his unresolved contract situation at Juventus, is not viewed as a suitable fit for Barcelona’s attacking blueprint—even as a potential free transfer.
Similarly, Benjamin Šeško is no longer in contention. The forward, who joined Manchester United from RB Leipzig in a €76.5 million move, has struggled to justify his price tag at Old Trafford.
With the summer window approaching, Barcelona’s search for a long-term No. 9 continues—Osimhen now firmly in the frame, albeit not yet the frontrunner.
