The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested 21 men and women at Stephrica Guest Palace hotel in Kureƙen Sani, Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state, over alleged immoral conduct.
Deputy Commander General of the Hisbah Board, Dr. Mujahideen Aminuddeen, confirmed the incident, saying the suspects were apprehended during an operation carried out by officials of the Board.
According to him, those arrested include 11 females, some of whom are minors aged between 17 and 25, and 10 males, most of them youths under the age of 30.
He added that the manager of the hotel was also taken into custody for allegedly allowing the gathering to take place on the premises.
“The Hisbah operatives discovered that the group had organised a party at the hotel, which contravenes the laws guiding public morality in the state, especially with the involvement of underage persons,” he said.
He stated that all the suspects would be charged to court after the completion of investigation.
The Hisbah Board also urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, particularly those involving minors or gatherings considered to be against the state’s moral and social regulations.
