Taraba State governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has launched a statewide youth database and profiling system to enhance youth-focused policies and programmes in the state.

The initiative, developed by the Taraba State Youth Development Agency, was unveiled primarily to boost and improve service delivery in the state.

Governor Kefas then described the platform as a critical tool for generating accurate and reliable data to drive youth empowerment and development programmes across the state.

He said his administration remains committed to prioritising young people. The development of the state, as reflected in the 2026 budget.

He stressed that future budgets would be deliberately structured to support youth development initiatives, especially in vocational skills.

The governor added that the project was part of his administration’s efforts to reposition youths for meaningful participation in the state’s growth and development.

He urged young people to key into the initiative by cooperating with relevant authorities, even as he advised them to shun negative tendencies and embrace the opportunities for their self-development.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Taraba State Youth Development Agency, Nongha Gara, said the database would serve as an invaluable asset for effective planning and implementation of youth-focused programmes.

Gara noted that the system would ensure that government interventions are better targeted and inclusive.
