President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s determination to confront Nigeria’s challenges and build a more prosperous nation, as he marked his 74th birthday.
In a personal message to Nigerians on Sunday ,the President expressed gratitude for the outpouring of goodwill, prayers and support from citizens across the country and beyond, noting that their patriotism and solidarity continue to strengthen his resolve to serve.
“I’m filled with joy and gratitude for the opportunity to serve this great nation,” he said, thanking Nigerians for their messages and gestures, including those who took out newspaper spaces and paid for airtime on radio and television to celebrate him.
Tinubu also acknowledged the goodwill messages from his wife, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and Vice President Kashim Shettima, appreciating their kind words on the occasion.
Consistent with what he described as his tradition of aligning personal celebrations with the national mood, the President said he chose to observe this year’s birthday in a low-key manner.
Reflecting on the journey so far, Tinubu recalled the challenges encountered since the commencement of his administration’s reforms, but expressed optimism that the sacrifices made were beginning to yield results.
“I’m glad that our sacrifices have not been in vain, as we can see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel,” he said, while noting that there had been temporary setbacks arising from the ongoing Middle East crisis.
He stressed that the progress recorded by his administration was a collective effort, adding that the credit does not belong to him alone, his Renewed Hope team, or the government, but to all Nigerians.
As his administration approaches its third anniversary, the President expressed confidence that the government would succeed in building a brighter future for citizens and generations to come.
He reiterated his administration’s resolve to tackle the country’s pressing challenges and called on Nigerians to continue to support the government’s efforts.
“We are determined to confront some of the challenges we face today, and with your continued support, we shall overcome,” he said.
The President urged citizens to work together in building a stronger, more resilient and prosperous nation that would make Nigeria the pride of Africa.
“Let us continue to work together to build a stronger, prosperous and more resilient nation,” he added.
