Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to proactive security governance and sustained partnership with security agencies to tackle insecurity in the state.

The governor, who stated this during a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) headquarters in Abuja, said the visit was part of his administration’s effort to strengthen collaboration on intelligence gathering, air surveillance and rapid response operations.

According to the governor, “the commitment to sustaining the partnership is to ensure continued peace, stability and safety in Taraba State.”

In a press statement signed by the State Commissioner for Information and Re-Orientation, Barr. Zainab Usman Jalingo, said the governor held a strategic meeting with the NAF leadership.

The governor, in the statement described the visit as symbolic and strategic, and expressed happiness over the progress made so far by NAF in the state.

He therefore, commended the NAF for its professionalism and operational support, saying its contributions have been instrumental in stabilising security in Taraba State.

According to him, the relative peace being experienced in the state is largely due to the Air Force’s consistent surveillance and swift intervention in critical situations.

Taraba remains one of the safest states in Northern Nigeria today, and we cannot tell our success story without acknowledging the immense support of the Nigerian Air Force,” he said

Governor Kefas, stressed that the purpose of the engagement was to deepen existing partnerships, particularly in intelligence gathering, sharing and rapid response mechanisms.

He noted that, evolving security threats require modern and coordinated approaches to free the state of insecurity.

The Air Force leadership also acknowledged Taraba State as one of the most secured states in the country, saying that deliberate investments in security infrastructure and strong inter-agency collaboration is very important.
