Commissioner of police, CP Akaninyene Ezima, on Monday, assumed duty as the director of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC).

He took over from the pioneer director, AIG Uche Ifeanyi Henry, who was recently promoted and redeployed as the assistant inspector general of police in charge of the Department of Training and Development at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

CP Ezima was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).

Spokesperson of the NPF-NCCC, DSP Augustina Kuru, said that with a distinguished career spanning over three decades, CP Ezima has served with unwavering dedication and professionalism across several key commands and formations within and outside the Force.

He served as deputy commissioner of police, Zone 17 CID, Akure, and is bringing his wealth of investigative and law enforcement expertise to bear as zonal head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in the Ibadan, Lagos, Benin, and Kano Zones, earning commendations for his impactful anti-corruption drive.

Prior to his redeployment as director of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC), CP Ezima served as commissioner of police at the Force Intelligence Department Annex, Lagos.
