2027: Gov Otti Urges Abia Residents To Get Their PVCs

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has expressed concern that many residents of the state were yet to register and collect their permanent voter cards (PVCs) even as the government had been stressing its importance.

Otti stated this yesterday during the 30-day 28th anniversary of Zam Jehovah Nights programme of the Assembly of God Church, 123 Tenant Road, Aba with the theme “Breaking Barriers”.

His words, “There are so many people in the state that I know are not registered. There are some of them that even though they are registered, on election day, they will not come out.”

Otti charged church leaders in the state to encourage their members to get registered in the ongoing voters’ card registration exercise of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He said as 2027 is approaching, the leaders and their members are not supposed to shy away from the civic duty, as the only way to sustain the ongoing developmental projects in the state is by voting during the elections.

While congratulating the church on the occasion, he pointed out that ‘to ensure that the good thing happening in our state continues is that, all of you must speak with your votes”.

‎Otti, who also commended them for the support they are giving to him and his government, thanked them for the gift of a sculptured white horse which they presented to him.

‎Speaking, the senior pastor of the church, Rev. Ogboso Ejindu said that the programme is an annual event that brings people from within and outside the country together in the presence of God.

‎Ejindu further noted that the theme describes Otti as a progressive, focused and hard working governor who came to break barriers that had kept the state underdeveloped for many years.
