2027: FCT APC Support Groups Endorse Gov Radda For Second Term

A coalition of All Progressives Congress (APC) support groups convened in Abuja has endorsed the re-election of Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State for a second term,

It also declared support for the aspiration of AbdulRashid Abba Ali for the House of Representatives, Katsina federal constituency.

A statement by the chairman Initiatives for Good Governance in Katsina State, Shamsuddeen Suleiman, said a meeting, which brought together members and leaders of prominent groups including APC Stakeholders’ Forum, Awareness for Good Leadership, Peace and Development, and Initiative for Good Governance in Katsina State, focused on evaluating the performance of the state government and charting a forward path for sustained development.

At the gathering, the leader of the APC Stakeholders’ Forum, Imran Muhammad Tukur, emphasized the importance of continuity in governance. He noted that Governor Radda’s administration has made remarkable strides in infrastructure development, education reform, and job creation over the past three years, stressing that a second term would consolidate these achievements and deepen ongoing reforms.

Also addressing the participants, the chairman of Awareness for Good Leadership, Peace and Development, Sani Faruq, commended the level of internal democracy within the APC in Katsina State. According to him, the absence of factional disputes following party congresses reflects political maturity and unity within the party. He further highlighted the state government’s proactive approach to tackling insecurity, particularly the introduction of the community watch initiative, which has since been replicated by several other states across the country.

In his remarks, the leader of the Initiative for Good Governance in Katsina State, Shamsuddeen Suleiman, called for a show of solidarity from attendees. He urged participants to demonstrate their support for both Governor Radda’s re-election and AbdulRashid Abba Ali’s candidacy. In response, the gathering rose in unison, signaling overwhelming endorsement.

The coalition noted that their support for AbdulRashid Abba Ali is rooted in his wealth of experience, innovative ideas, and demonstrated passion for advancing the development of the Katsina federal constituency. They also acknowledged his alignment with the policies and vision of Governor Radda in building a more prosperous Katsina State.
