Philip Otele has spoken of his immense pride after making his senior debut for Nigeria, calling it a “dream come true.”
The winger earned his first cap for the Super Eagles as a late substitute in Tuesday night’s 2-2 draw with Jordan’s Al-Nashama, replacing Frank Onyeka in the 89th minute.
Otele was one of three players to make their debut for Nigeria during the four-nation invitational tournament, alongside Emmanuel Fernandez and Yira Collins Sor.
The Hamburg forward, currently on loan from Swiss club FC Basel, expressed his joy to Super Eagles media: “For me, it was a dream come true. We always play football to represent the national team, so I always wanted to play for Nigeria, and it was a big moment for me and my family.”
