President Bola Tinubu has announced that the Federal Government will immediately deploy a security network, including surveillance infrastructure, aimed at helping law enforcement agencies identify and track down perpetrators of violent attacks in real-time.

The President made the disclosure on Thursday during his condolence visit to Jos, Plateau State capital, following the recent killings that left nearly 28 people dead in Angwan Rukuba and neighbouring communities of Jos North LGA of the State.

““We are going to install immediately a network, cameras, that will help the law enforcement agencies to identify the troublemakers instantly,” Tinubu said.

Addressing grieving families and victims, the President expressed deep frustration over recurring visits to communities affected by violence, stressing that his priority was to restore lasting peace.

“I don’t want to be here commiserating and consoling, I want to be here to establish peace,” he said.

He added that while the government could not reverse the loss of lives, efforts would be made to ease the suffering of affected families.

“For the victims, let’s see what we can do. For their losses, we cannot replace human beings, but whatever we do to give them minimum comfort, we will,” Tinubu stated.

Tinubu’s visit came days after the deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba in Jos North LGA, Plateau State, which has sparked renewed calls for improved security and intelligence operations in vulnerable communities.

The President was received by Plateau State governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, APC national chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, and other senior government officials before proceeding to meet victims and bereaved families.
