The Progressive-Youth Orientation Centre has been unveiled in Zamfara State to address insecurity, youth unemployment and lack of intellectual engagement among young people.
The director-general of the Progressive-Youth Orientation Centre, Zamfara State, Hon. Nasir Gamagiwa, announced the setting up of the centre at a press conference in Gusau on Wednesday.
Gamagiwa said it was aimed at reorienting youths, promoting community responsibility, and encouraging constructive engagement with authorities.
According to him, the centre will focus on addressing insecurity by reorienting youths’ mindsets, promoting community responsibility, and equipping them with knowledge and skills for responsible political participation in the state.
“The centre concentrates on civic awareness through educating youths on their civic rights and responsibilities, humanitarian support, particularly supporting vulnerable individuals and communities affected by insecurity and socio-economic hardship,” he said
Hon. Gamagiwa stated that the centre would remain committed to promoting ethical leadership, discouraging violence and manipulation, and fostering creativity, innovation and skill development.
