Be Agents Of Peace, Stakeholders At Twani Foundation Conference Urge Youths

Participants at Twani Foundation ‘Project Peace Africa’ have urged youths to be the agent of peace for the enthronement of sound governance but not allow themselves use for rigging election in 2023.

The call was made in Abuja on Thursday, during the Foundation’s unveiling/conference, aimed at creating peaceful co existence in Nigeria with the theme, “Empowering And Developing Nigeria Youths.”

 

The Founder/Converner, Angel Twani said the Foundation came into existence as a result of the desire to create a vehicle for a sustainable peace process in Nigeria.

She lamented that the absence of peace is denying Nigeria of development and the continuous act of violence has placed the country below expectation thereby creating tension and unwanted desires among citizens seeking equality and justice.

 

“I have experienced crisis and it was upon that I created this foundation to preach about peace,” she said.

 

She also urged the participants to all join hand and build peace in Nigeria, while advocating for harmonious living among different ethnic groups.

 

the Chief Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission, Hon. Abimbola Ayo-Yusuf, who was the keynote speaker, appreciated the foundation for creating a platform to discuss peace in the country.

 

He also advised the federal government to fulfill all agreements it entered into with the Academic Staff Union of Universities, (ASUU) to avoid strike and idleness among Youths.

 

Ayo-Yusuf similarly, urged Young people to seek intellectual and survival skills which would lead to financial freedom, while advising them to be agents of peace and avoid being used as tools for rigging or political thugs during next year ‘s elections.

 

The Commissioner for Internal Security in Niger State, Mr. Emmanuel Umor, advised leaders to put their words into action on youth empowerment.

 

He said bringing youths together to talk about peace will help in building the country and also making them ambassadors of peace.
