BEETA Arts Festival is back for its second edition with the theme Art Connects.
With Art Connect, the festival seeks to connect creatives and communities across continents and the creative industry via a three-day convergence of theatre, art, film, music, food and dance activities.
Held in collaboration with the Multichoice Talent Factory, EbonyLife creative Academy, as well as TASCK social impact founded by rapper M.I, the festival will host workshops featuring Olivier Award nominated and Al Fargon winner, Dipo Agboluaje; author of Mechanics of Yenegoa, Michael Afenfia, and NLNG 2022 Finalist, Su’eddie Vershima Agema.
“BAF is a creative campaign curated to encourage interaction and collaborations in African creativity. It is showcasing existing talent, bridging the gap between the old and existing players thus creating new audiences for our rich African stories,” said festival producer, Olarotimi.
Festival founder, Bikiya Graham-Douglas said with African creatives focused on improving African storytelling and narratives, the world is witnessing an increased consumption of African narratives, particularly Nigerian stories.
“Our goal is to reach over 10,000 festival goers and participants with a concentration on Gen Ys and Gen Zs, the millennials and a sub-concentration of retirees. These will also include online attendees through virtual streaming.
Founded in 2021, BEETA Arts Festival was inspired by great African stories and the mission to become the largest art incubator event in Africa. The 2022 edition is scheduled to hold December 2 to 4, at the NAFIL Arcade & Waterpark, Abuja.
