Plateau State chapter of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) has debunked reports that President Bola Tinubu invited only Christian victims during his recent condolence visit to Jos.
The group described the report as misleading, adding that four Muslim families who lost their members were invited along with families of the Christian victims for the president’s condolence.
The state chapter of the group had on Tuesday disclosed that they lost four members, and 10 were still missing.
JNI in a statement signed by the group’s secretary, Dr Salim Umar Musa, yesterday confirmed that contrary to allegations that only Christian victims were invited, Muslim victims were equally invited.
President Tinubu on Thursday held a town hall meeting with stakeholders from the state and condoled with them and families of those who lost their loved ones in Sunday’s attack in Anguwan Rukuba community of Jos North LGA where 28 persons were killed.
Following his visit, some people claimed the president invited only Christian victims to condole with them.
