A former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, Dr. David Emmanuel Umbugadu, has promised to work for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

The two-time member of the House of Representatives representing Akwanga’Wamba’Nasarawa Eggon, described Tinubu’s reforms and infrastructure development across the country as key motivators for his support for the president.

He said the award of contract for the dualisation of the 420-kilometer Akwanga-Jos-Bauchi–Gombe federal highway further endeared the president to him. He recounted an emotional moment of an accident which claimed the lives of his four friends at the Hawan-Kibo portion of the road near Jos, Plateau State.

According to him, the friends who were all students of the University of Jos along with him at the time were traveling when their vehicle came face-to-face with a truck on bad spot at the dreaded Hawan-Kibo.

“The truck ran over their vehicle, crushing all the occupants who were my bosom friends in an encounter that has continued to haunt me till today,” he recounted.
