The National Hajj Commission Of Nigeria (NAHCON) has expressed satisfaction with the arrangement by the Kebbi State in readiness for the airlifting of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj.
NAHCON chairman, Ambassador Isma’il Ahmad, gave the commendation after inspecting the Hajj facilities in Birnin Kebbi
Represented by the North West zonal commissioner of the commission, Muhammad Usman, the chairman explained that the inspection visit was essential to assess the readiness of states for the Pilgrimage.
“NAHCON is committed to a hitch-free, flawless Hajj exercise nationwide. The commission is happy with Kebbi on meeting this target,” he remarked.
The executive chairman, Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Faruku Aliyu Yaro, (Enabo), informed the NAHCON delegation that the agency has completed all arrangements and met the prerequisite stipulations on the conduct of the Hajj exercise.
“We are fully ready to start the airlifting of our pilgrims on May 2, 2026, at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi.
“The state has the largest number of pilgrims in the country who have paid their fares in full.
“The agency has secured all travel documents for the Pilgrims, including Visas as well as uniform, bags and other essentials.
“Furthermore, all pilgrims have undergone medical screening to ensure that none of them is afflicted or bearing the nine underlining diseases enumerated by the Saudi authorities, that can disqualify any pilgrim from travelling to the Hajj.
“Our security arrangement from the Hajj Camp to the airport for departure and arrival of pilgrims is watertight. We’ve installed CCTV 24/7 to monitor everything within and outside the building”,
“The agency is highly grateful to Governor Nasir Idris for providing the wherewithal to perfect its operations, and we remain loyal and appreciative to NAHCON under the chairmanship of Ambassador Isma’il Ahmad,” Yaro said.
