The ‘Post-Memory, Post Archive Project’, an initiative of the German cultural agency in Nigeria, the Goethe-Institut, and the Nigeria Film Corporation, will open in Port Harcourt on April 11, 2026.

The project brought together Nigerian artists, including filmmakers, and researchers from diverse disciplines to travel to various archives in Ibadan and to the Nigerian Film and Sound Archive in Jos to research Nigeria’s film and storytelling history.

The results were films such as ‘FESTAC 77 Exploration of Heritage’ directed by Yusuf Ishaya, ‘ re: constrictions’ by Ese Emmanuel, ‘Don’t Let Them Die’ directed by Ogochukwu Umeadi, ‘Our Bodies, Nigeria’s Ghosts’ directed by Rose Abba, Osho Abiodun-directed ‘Reflection of Memory’, Eieke Bolaji- directed ‘Memoirs of the Soil’, and the Geoffrey Park-directed ‘Palaver’.

The Post-Memory, Post Archive Project tour to Port Harcourt is supported by Visions Film Society, Alliance Française Port Harcourt, and Art in the Garden City.
