Popular Nigerian disc jockey and record producer, Imohiosen Patrick, widely known as DJ Neptune, has warned that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is on the verge of “retiring” music producers and mastering engineers.
Sharing his experience on social media, Neptune revealed how he was recently fooled by an AI-generated track.
He noted that after listening to a song sent to him for feedback, he was so impressed that he advised the sender to sign the “artist” immediately, only to be told the music was entirely created by AI.
“I told the guy to sign the artist because what I heard was out of this world. That’s how my guy said it was AI’s work. It shook me,” the DJ stated.
His comments follow a similar warning from media personality N6, who claimed the music production and mastering ecosystem is facing a “scary” future due to the rapid advancement of digital tools.
