Former governorship aspirant in Kogi State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Alhaji Saidu Ugonoh has called on the newly elected members of the national working committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to work towards unity and reconciliation of all aggrieved party members in order to present a cohesive force ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He also commended the diligence and commitment of the secretary of the APC 2026 national convention planning committee and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, as the committee presents certificates of return to the newly elected members of the party’s national working committee (NWC) in Abuja on Thursday.

Alhaji Ugonoh, who also holds the traditional title of the Santuraki of Ebiraland and is a US-based businessman, in a statement released by his media office, said Governor Buni, together with the chairman of the convention and former governor of Katsina state, Aminu Masari, executed the assignment with the highest sense of commitment and responsibility.

Further congratulating the recipients of the certificates, the APC chieftain said: “By the same stroke, I wish to once again congratulate his excellency president bola ahmed tinubu and all the party organs across the nation for standing firmly behind Governor Mai Mala Buni as he piloted the affairs of the convention planning committee as its secretary.

“Obviously, the president has shown the way, and Governor Mai Mala Buni has delivered strategically.

“As we march forward towards the 2027 general elections, permit me to reiterate the importance of unity and cohesion within the party structures, especially as the newly elected members of the national working committee are presented with their certificates. This opportunity to serve our party at this critical moment must not be taken for granted. It seems that efforts must be made to ensure the feelings of all aggrieved parties across the country are taken into account.

“Going forward, the NWC must own the party campaigns and mobilisation for Mr President, in concert with the party structures at both the State, LGA and ward levels. We must leave no stone unturned on our march towards the 2027 presidential election to deliver a resounding landslide victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for a second tenure, critical to consolidating the reform gains already recorded.

“This is the only way to justify the trust our party members reposed in you as the national working committee members. On this, we kindly call upon the national chairman to lead the charge along with his team to ensure APC comes out victorious in 2027, insha’allah.”
