The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) has commended the Government of Pakistan for its successful diplomatic intervention that secured a two-week ceasefire in the ongoing Middle East conflict.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke, International Spokesman of IAWPA, described the breakthrough as “a vital window for de-escalation, humanitarian relief, and dialogue,” urging all parties involved to respect the terms of the truce without reservation.
“We applaud the Government of Pakistan for demonstrating principled leadership and using its good offices to broker this critical pause in hostilities. This ceasefire, though temporary, saves lives and creates space for reason to prevail over violence,” Nkweke said.
IAWPA called on all state and non-state actors in the conflict to fully adhere to the ceasefire conditions, including an immediate and total cessation of hostilities across all fronts for the full two-week period. The group also emphasized the need to guarantee safe humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians and the delivery of essential supplies such as food, water, and medical aid.
The Association further urged parties to refrain from provocative actions or military build-ups that could undermine confidence in the ceasefire, while encouraging meaningful engagement with mediators to extend the truce and transition toward a sustainable peace process.
Nkweke stressed that lasting peace in the Middle East is not only a regional concern but a global necessity. According to him, stability in the region would positively impact global energy markets, secure international shipping routes, reduce refugee flows, and protect sacred heritage sites revered worldwide.
“Every day of ceasefire is a day children return to school, hospitals treat the wounded, and families reunite. War has no winner — only peace creates prosperity,” he stated.
He warned that the continued conflict carries far-reaching economic and humanitarian consequences, including rising food and fuel prices, disrupted supply chains, and increased risks of radicalization across Africa, Asia, and Europe.
“The world cannot afford another protracted war. This two-week truce must be the foundation for a longer peace,” Nkweke added.
IAWPA also reaffirmed its readiness to support multilateral peace efforts, including interfaith dialogue, civil society engagement, and post-conflict peacebuilding initiatives. The group called on the United Nations, Arab League, and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), alongside other regional bodies, to strengthen monitoring mechanisms and ensure accountability during the ceasefire.
“We stand with the people of the Middle East who yearn for normalcy. We urge all leaders: choose diplomacy over destruction. Let this ceasefire hold, and let it grow,” Nkweke concluded.
