A frontline training and research academy in western and Islamic education, MAJMA’ Lagos will formally unveil the institute and also graduate its first set of graduands in a two-day ceremony in Lagos which will also include and international symposium.
The founder of MAJMA’ , Dr Saheed Ahmad Rufai who made this known in a media brief in Lagos, said the academy which began in 2008 as a training platform has grown to be an academy which has different courses and also enjoys the partnership of of Association of Arab Universities and World Islam Science.
He noted that the International Symposium will have different scholars from other countries, make academic presentations on the theme ‘Emerging Concerns Over Arabic Education, Economic Development and Islamic Jurisprudence’ on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022 at the Islamic Center, University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos.
Speaking further, the Associate Profesor and erudite Islamic scholar, Rufai said, “MAJMA’ Lagos, a training and research institute has evolved over the years and served as a multiplicity of functions, training men and women to be conference interpreters and translators.
“The academy will be having new sets of students having received 93 applicants for the Post Graduate degrees and only twenty were accepted, also our of 116 applicants of Diploma degrees, only 30 were accepted into the institute.
“Of A truth, praises be to Allah for his guidance over the years. The institute has made meaningful impact in changing the landscape in the teaching of Islamic Education rendering certificate courses in various aspects of education, counseling and Islamic psychology.
“We shall be unveiling MAJMA’ formally and graduate ten students on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at the Radisson Blue at Ikeja GRA”.
Prof Lukman Adeoti, acting chairnan of the event, stated that the two-part event is a wonderful platform set to disseminate knowledge to participants. He commended Dr Saheed Ahmad Rufai for staying focused and undaunted in making MAGMA’ and institute of pride.
Among personalities to be at the epoch making international symposium include Dr Muiz Banire SAN who will be the Chairnan of the symposium. Others are Professor Dr Kamishi Hamidi, former VC of University of Algiers, Prof T.G.O Gbadamosi and Prof Isaq Akinlola among others
Former Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Musiliu Smith is the Chairnan of the institute formal unveiling and graduation ceremony holding on Sunday.
