The NISS, an educational arm of the Department of State Services (DSS) is at par with National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) as well as the National Defence College (NDC).

Among the foreigners are military and security personnel from Ghana, The Gambia, Rwanda and Tanzania, who were all participants in the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) course 15.

Speaking at the ceremony, which held at the weekend at the NISS headquarters in Abuja, the commandant of the NISS, Alhaji Ayodele Adeleke said the 78 participants including security personnel from four African countries, were trained in different security programmes.

While urging the graduands to ensure that they are good ambassadors of the Institute, Adeleke stated that the institute also offers Higher National Diploma in security studies and is collaborating with the University of Ilorin for Masters degree programmes in some courses.

At the event, the director-general of the State Security Service (DSS) Alhaji Yusuf Magaji Bichi said the DSS is collaborating with other sister agencies to tackle the issue of insecurity adding that Nigeria will definitely come out better.

He, however, urged Nigerians to unite against crimes and criminality as the security agencies cannot win the war against insecurity alone.

Speaking on insecurity in the country, the DSS director-general warned criminal elements to desist from criminal activities as the Service will not hesitate to “take out” anyone who attacks its personnel.

The director-general, who tasked human rights activists against supporting criminals in the course of carrying out their duties, also argued that those security personal, who are killed and attacked on a daily basis, also have rights to live.
