Gov Yahaya Appoints Provost, 3 Principal Officers For GSCELS Nafada

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has approved the appointment of a Provost and three other principal officers for the Gombe State College of Education and Legal Studies (GSCELS), Nafada.

The newly – confirmed officers are Dr. Dawud Muhammad as Provost, Aishatu Mahmud Aliyu as Registrar, Usman Muhammad Ahijo as Bursar, and Usman Muhammad as Chief Librarian.

The appointments were formally presented to the appointees on Wednesday by the chairman of the College’s Governing Council, Aishatu Jibrin Dukku, on behalf of the state government during an official ceremony attended by key stakeholders in the education sector.

Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Idris Yambiu Buba, represented by the Director of Higher Education, Abdulhakim Mudathir, stressed the importance of a cordial and productive relationship between the ministry and the college management.

He noted that such synergy is critical to achieving the state’s vision for higher education.

Dukku, in her remarks, congratulated the appointees and charged them to justify the confidence reposed in them through dedication, integrity, and service.

She emphasized that their performance would be closely watched, adding that the responsibility placed on them requires commitment and accountability.

Responding on behalf of the appointees, the provost, Dr. Dawud Muhammad, expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve.

He called for the support and cooperation of staff, students, and the host community, pledging that the new management would work collectively to advance the institution and enhance its academic standards.
