A total of 1,714 pilgrims will perform this year’s holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia from Kwara State.
The inaugural flight from the Babatunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin, has been slated for May 6, 2026.
The secretary of Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji AbdulSalam AbdulKadir disclosed these during an interview with LEADERSHIP in Ilorin, the state capital.
He explained that arrangements were in top gear to ensure a hitch-free exercise by ensuring that all intending pilgrims were airlifted on time.
AbdulKadir said that their visas were ready, with accommodation secured in Saudi Arabia, while other hajj materials were all on ground.
He added that the board would receive the Basic Travelling Allowance (BTA) of the intending pilgrims next week.
AbdulKadir said the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) had fixed May 3, 2026, for the inaugural flight nationwide, while Kwara pilgrims would be airlifted in three batches – May 6th, 7th and 9th.
He appealed to the intending pilgrims to keep their permit access card safely.
