The legal drama between social media critic Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), and billionaire businessman Linus Williams (Blord) has taken a fresh turn following the latter’s release from custody.
On Friday, April 17, 2026, a Federal High Court in Abuja granted Blord bail after he spent 15 days remanded in Kuje prison. The businessman had been arraigned on charges involving criminal conspiracy, impersonation, and the alleged unauthorised use of VDM’s image.
VDM’s Cryptic Warning
Minutes after the news of the bail hit the airwaves, VeryDarkMan took to Instagram to share a provocative message, signalling that his campaign against influential figures is far from over.
“One billionaire is coming out of prison today after 2 weeks, let’s prepare to send another billionaire to jail,” he wrote.
The post has sparked intense speculation among netizens, with many wondering who the critic has in his crosshairs next. While Blord was granted bail on self-recognition, meaning he was released based on his personal undertaking to appear for trial, the court has restricted his movement by seizing his international passport.
VDM had previously hinted at a possible resolution. During a discussion with human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju, the critic stated he would be willing to withdraw the case under one specific, unconventional condition: any mediator seeking to resolve the dispute must go online and openly declare support for the current President and the ruling party.
