Indigenes of Ibadan under the auspices of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) have declared that the crisis between Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde and the Olubadan of Ibadanland has been resolved.

The CCII, in a statement signed by its President-General, Barrister Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole, through the organisation’s Publicity Secretary, Kola Olomide, said the dethronement move was linked to another alleged plan to impeach the governor.

It was reported that the governor was alleged to have made moves to dethrone the monarch.

CCII, the apex socio-cultural group in the ancient city, stated in the press release that the crisis had been laid to rest.

It declared that external forces that attempted to escalate the situation had been defeated.

The group debunked the alleged dethronement and impeachment plots.

The organisation explained that the disagreement between the duo had been addressed through dialogue and traditional conflict-resolution mechanisms in Ibadanland.

“The issues between Governor Makinde and the Olubadan have been resolved amicably, and the external forces that attempted to create a crisis around the situation have been defeated.
