Nigeria LNG Limited has unveiled a Post-Primary Scholarship Scheme targeted at outstanding Basic Six pupils in public primary schools across Rivers State.
The company, a joint venture involving the Federal Government through Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), alongside Shell, TotalEnergies, and Eni, said the initiative formed part of its educational social investment aimed at expanding access to quality secondary education.
In a notice published on its website on Tuesday, NLNG stated that the scheme was specifically designed for indigenous pupils from its host communities, noting that applicants must be in Basic Six at public primary schools within Rivers State.
“Only for indigene pupils of NLNG host communities. Age must not be below 10 years and not exceed 12 years. Applicants must not be beneficiaries of other awards or related to NLNG staff,” the notice read.
The firm directed interested candidates to apply through its online scholarship portal, where applicants were required to register, verify their email addresses, and complete the application by uploading necessary documents in PDF format.
It said, “Visit https://nlngscholarships.smapply.io/prog/ppss, and click “Register,” to create an account.
According to NLNG, required documents include academic results from Basic 4 to 6, a birth certificate issued by the National Population Commission, an attestation letter from the head teacher, proof of indigene status signed by a community authority, a Local Government Area identification letter, and a recent passport photograph.
Applications opened on April 20 and will close on May 11, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
The company added that shortlisted candidates must secure provisional admission into one of its partner secondary schools, with the list to be published in national newspapers and on its social media platforms.
It further disclosed that the selection test will be conducted in a paper-based format at designated centres in Port Harcourt and Bonny Island.
NLNG encouraged Persons Living with Disabilities to apply, assuring that necessary accommodations would be provided to support their participation.
