Two people have been reportedly sustained gunshot injuries as men of the Oyo State Police Command foiled attempted kidnapping incident at Onigambari along the Mamu/Ijebu -Ode Road

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, who confirmed the incident on Wednesday, the incident occured last Saturday.

He said preliminary information available indicates that some hoodlums attacked vehicles conveying passengers who were returning from a social event in Ibadan.

During the incident, victims fled into the surrounding bush for safety but were later reunited.

Accordingly to him, the swift response of police operatives to the distress call disrupted the operation and prevented the hoodlums from accomplishing their suspected aim of kidnapping the victims.
