WSCIR, Others Plan Training, Awards For Journalists

A consortium of organisations led by the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) on Tuesday said it has concluded plans to host journalists and media practitioners to a two-day training and awards ceremony.

The programme tagged: “Amplified In-depth Media Conference and Awards” is scheduled to hold on Thursday, December 8 and Friday, December 9, 2022 at NECA House, Ikeja, Lagos and virtually

According to the organisers, it begins with a Keynote address by Prof Lai Oso, a Professor of Mass Communication at the Lagos State University.

In a media brief held in Lagos, Motunrayo Alaka, Executive Director/CEO, WSCIJ,, said, “the multi-panel conference will provide an opportunity to reflect on the-state-of-democracy, the media profession and the practice of investigative journalism.

“There will be panel sessions by an array of speakers such as Anas Aremeyaw Anas, undercover reporter/founder of Tiger Eye Foundation, Ghana; Tobore Ovuorie, freelance investigative journalist; Fisayo Soyombo, founder of the Foundation for Investigative Journalism; Abigail Ogwezzy-Ndisika, Professor, Department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos; Lanre Arogundade, executive director of International Press Centre (IPC); Kemi Busari, Editor, Dubawa and Yemi Adamolekun, Executive Director- Enough is Enough, Nigeria.
