The Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) honoured the outgoing 13th president and chairman of Council of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), Oluropo Dada, for his contributions to the development of Nigeria’s capital market.

Dada beat the ceremonial closing gong at the Nigerian Exchange Limited, a symbolic honour reserved for distinguished personalities. He assumed office as president of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers in July 2024, having previously served as both first and second vice president.

Speaking at the event, the Group chairman of NGX Group, Umaru Kwairanga, commended Dada’s leadership, describing him as humble and impactful. He said the Institute recorded notable progress during his tenure, including stronger engagement with government at multiple levels.

Also speaking, NGX Group chief executive officer, Temi Popoola, praised Dada’s inclusive leadership style and urged him to remain actively involved in advancing the capital market beyond his tenure.

The chairman of the Association of Securities Dealing Houses of Nigeria, Sehinde Adenagbe, said Dada’s administration strengthened collaboration between ASHON and CIS, noting that both bodies had worked more closely toward shared industry objectives.

In his remarks, Dada expressed appreciation to NGX and market stakeholders for their support, making his tenure rewarding and impactful. He called for sustained collaboration across the industry and urged stakeholders to support the incoming CIS President and principal officers.

“The future of our market remains bright,” he said, expressing confidence that continued cooperation would drive further growth and development.
